About The Artist

Inspired by the natural world, Beatrice Drew is someone who defines herself as "in touch" with the animalistic sides of things. In her work, she often represents animals - commonly canines - in a personified kind of way, creating expression and life in the eyes and face while keeping accurate and true forms. In college, most of her work like this were made in a 2-D form; pencil and charcoal drawing, paintings, and pastels were commonly her choice of medium. After discovering a gap in her art skills, Beatrice concentrated on Ceramics and Photography while getting her BFA at Metro State University in Denver. After graduating in December of 2021, Beatrice started her teaching career at Aurora Hills Middle School. She also started teaching with Denver Rec Centers to continue her ceramic practice and share her love of ceramics with others. To this day, she continues to develop her own art and educational practice. Her most recent interest is sewing and beginning book binding.
