For this lesson, 2nd-grade students were introduced to the concept of Arpilleras of Chile. Given the political reasons behind the woman of Chile creating these pieces, I kept the heavy content very vague. However, if you know your students incredibly well and know they can handle some very serious content, you can bring it into the lesson. Students has many options when it came to attaching felt together, and they used their drafts to keep them on track!
